What I've been doing

OK...right....where to begin?

I sit on the SU Executive committee weekly talking about issues that effect, to some extent, or not, the student body as a whole.

I have also been on the NUS Southern Regional Conference, where we discussed the issues of representation in Students' Unions, as well as talking about protecting students, and protecting the environment.

The 2nd to the 6th of Feb was Students with Disabilities week, where we raised awareness and donations for several charities that help people with disabilities to lead as close to a 'normal' life as possible (if any life is normal!!).

This was a very successful week, and rased £44.42 to be divided between RNIB, RNID, NAS, and the Stroke Assoiciation, giving them each £11.10 each. It's not a lot, but it's raising awareness which is the most important thing.

The raffle, in which we gave away 6 meals and a cake from Crumbs CafĂ© raised £70.65 for this wonderful local charity.

Today was the UGM, where we discussed the ever controversial 'No Platform for Facists and Racists' policy, the introdiction of e-voting, allowing the Executive committee to make non-substantive changes to the constitution. There was also a 'Question Time' style debate about issues such as plans to ban www.facebook.com on campus computers, the issue of student pay and display parking, and the provision of unilink buses - FUN TIMES

Right, I have to go and do something towards my Degree.......YAY
